COMMON BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS INDICATING POOR SADDLE PERFORMANCE

  1. reluctance or inability to achieve medium/extended paces
  2. reluctance or inability to achieve lateral work
  3. reluctance or inability to go forward
  4. behavioural problems under saddle i.e. rearing, bucking, napping, bolting
  5. putting back up when saddle put on/girthed up or when mounting
  6. refusing jumps
  7. taking top pole off by "dangling" front legs
  8. looking "short" on one or both front legs
  9. "grunting" during particular movements i.e. on landing after jump or during flying changes
